PATIENT SURGICAL
INSTRUCTIONS
Before Your Surgery
Arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home.
Avoid food and drinks at least 8 hours before your procedure (unless instructed otherwise).
Wear comfortable clothing and avoid jewelry or heavy makeup.
Take prescribed medications only as directed by your dentist or surgeon.
Day of Surgery
Arrive on time for your appointment.
Bring your ID, insurance information, and a list of medications.
Inform the dental team of any last-minute changes in your health (fever, cold, new medications).
Relax—our team will guide you every step of the way.
Aftercare & Recovery
Bite gently on gauze to control bleeding, changing it as directed.
Rest for the first 24 hours and avoid strenuous activity.
Keep your head elevated when resting.
Apply an ice pack on the cheek (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off) to reduce swelling.
Eating & Drinking
Stick to soft foods (yogurt, soups, mashed potatoes, smoothies) for the first 24–48 hours.
Avoid hot, spicy, or crunchy foods.
Do not use a straw—suction can disrupt healing.
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
